‘The shape of Life’
Spatial awareness is I feel, very simply, an organized awareness of the objects in the space around us. This concept of ‘inner space’ or space as an experience is my inspiration for creating these glass sculptures. Every individual has a personal concept of space which is formed by their personal experiences, their ‘awareness’ of the objects within that space in relation to ones self.
These flowing delicate forms made in glass are a representation of my personal experience of space. By controlling the view, and passage of light, into and through the form I hope to entice the viewer to explore the form and it’s environment, creating interaction between the individual observer and the environment the work is placed in.
